Established in 1986 by a group friends, some of whom are now life members of the club, the Mud N Tars are a family friendly club that provides a safe and enjoyable motorcycling environment for motorcycle sports and enthusiasts on the Fleurieu Peninsula South Australia. We cater for all age and skill levels from kids aged 4 and up in the Demonstration Class right through to the veteran’s class aged 40 plus. Not only do we run modern bikes we also have classes for Pre 85, Pre 75 bikes and sidecars.
We have two permanent tracks, firstly Day Rd Victor Harbor for our dedicated dirt track where our club rooms are situated and secondly our motocross track at Range Rd Parawa. We also have access to a couple of enduro tracks and these are approved via Motorcycling SA. We also encourage our Road Riding members both road track development and road legal riders.
We abide by the Motorcycling Australia Manual of Motorsport. This is our guidebook for ensuring all aspects are safe, we want everyone to be safe. We have qualified officials at every ride and race event, achieving these qualifications require time, experience and learning to be able to provide a safe environment to all participants for both riders and visitors. Numerous Mud N Tars officials hold both State and National level officials licences. We are always looking for more volunteers to be involved in officialling our events and can provide training and guidance with opportunity’s to learn on ride and race days so if you are interested please contact us!
From 1986 the Mud N Tars originally ran enduro events for senior riders on the Fleurieu, a few years after we started a motocross track at Back Valley (Whites Valley) and even ran the State Titles there. In the early 90’s the club amalgamated with the Victor Harbor Mini Bike Club and took over the Day Rd complex where we now have our dirt track and club rooms. Over the years we have had a few big name riders who have competed at our club as juniors such as Casey Stoner (Moto GP) who won a national title at Day Rd on his 60cc machine, Broc Parkes (World Supersport), Anthony West (Moto GP), Brett Metcalfe (AMA motocross & supercross).
General meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at Day Rd, Victor Harbor, starting at 8pm Sharp.
